Safeguarding Policy
1. Policy Statement
My consultancy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults. I adhere to the principles outlined by the NSPCC and UK safeguarding standards, ensuring a safe environment in all my activities. I will continue to stay up-to-date with the latest legislation and government guidelines related to safeguarding and be a leader in promoting best practice in alignment with these guidelines.
At Safe Brain Solutions I take safeguarding very seriously as the main focus of my mission is to safeguard children. I want to ensure every child I work with is safe from any type of abuse; physical, sexual and emotional, and neglect and any adults that I work with understand that safeguarding should be at the forefront of everything we do in our work with children.
As a sole trader I am my own safeguarding lead, I have up to date safeguarding training, delivered by the NSPCC and know that if I have any concerns or need any advice on any aspect of safeguarding, that I can make contact with them. I can also contact the local authority that I work in.
If someone wants to report a safeguarding concern to me, as a safeguarding lead, I can be contacted by email, telephone, or through the contact form on this website. In order to adhere to my UKBA certification and accreditation from the PSA, I must renew my safeguarding training every 3 years. I renewed my training in January 2026 and I have a DBS check which anybody can check the status of as I am registered with the update service. I am also fully insured to practice. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like to check my DBS status and I can provide you with the information required to do so.
I work extensively with adults who support children in different roles and therefore my safeguarding policy covers me in any capacity I work in with children, directly or indirectly. My aim is to effectively support schools, educators, parents and carers in implementing best practices in order to safeguard all children, and my safeguarding policy covers my consultancy, training and support services with all stakeholders.
I play a crucial role in working with children, parents and carers, and need to model and implement best practice for supporting the children I work with. My consultancy, training and support services need to ensure the safety of the child as central, to protect children and vulnerable individuals. This includes developing support plans that not only implement evidence based strategies but also put the needs of the child first, with their overall wellbeing, mental health and physical and emotional safety being the upmost priority. All interventions that I recommend will be trauma informed and evidence based and will only be implented with the full consent of those responsible for the children, and where possible with the child themselves. My aim is to make sure I play my part in helping schools foster a protective environment for their students.
As a sole trader I don't employ any other staff. I work closely with other people in other capacities, such as schools. I promote a culture of transparency and accountability within all the settings I work in. This involves encouraging open communication among staff, students, and parents about safeguarding issues. By fostering an atmosphere where individuals feel safe to voice concerns, I can help mitigate risks and address potential safeguarding breaches promptly.
Ultimately, this safeguarding policy is a fundamental aspect of my practice. By prioritising student safety and well-being, I strive to continue to assist with providing a nurturing environment for all children and stakeholders that empowers people to strive for the best practice. Safeguarding is a vital commitment to ensuring that every child receives the care and protection they deserve.
